As demand for satellite communications infrastructure continues to grow worldwide, we’ve been making significant investments in our UK manufacturing capabilities.
We have invested over £780,000 in new surface-mount technology (SMT) equipment, increasing capacity and helping to reduce lead times for critical communications programmes.
One of the production lines has seen capacity grow from 35,000 to 60,000 components per hour, with production cycle times reduced by almost 50% for ETL’s Havoc 256×256 RF Switch Matrix.

The investment includes new SMT placement machines, automated test equipment, reflow soldering technology, and temperature-controlled storage systems – all helping to improve efficiency across the production process, delivered by our skilled engineering, production, testing and assembly teams.
We’re also continuing to expand our capabilities through investment in specialist production facilities for high-frequency and high-power amplifier technologies, supporting the next generation of communications networks.

Together, these investments strengthen ETL’s ability to deliver innovative communications technology at scale. Our equipment is already deployed in over 130 countries, and used by more than 80% of NATO member governments.
