ETL Systems and Amphinicy Technologies Demonstrate Interoperable Digital Ground Segment Solution at SATShow 2026

21 May 2026

April 2026 – ETL Systems, global leaders in RF distribution for the satellite ground segment, has announced a successful integration demonstration with Amphinicy Technologies, a provider of advanced software solutions for the satellite industry.

The demonstration showcased the interoperability between ETL’s DIGITAL 1000 RF over IP digitiser and Amphinicy’s Blink pure-software modem in DVB-S2X configuration, showing a digitised, end-to-end ground segment solution running live for show visitors to witness.

ETL Systems, with a heritage spanning over 35 years in designing and manufacturing RF equipment, has been at the forefront of the ground segment virtualisation movement, which is enabling the transition from analogue to digital ground infrastructure. Its DIGITAL 1000 product line delivers high-performance RF over IP digitisation, transforming analogue RF signals into secure, flexible IP streams and supporting the industry’s move towards virtualised networks.

Amphinicy Technologies offers mission-critical software expertise and deep satcom domain knowledge, with its Blink modem providing high-throughput, wideband performance using COTS hardware. As a pure software modem supporting DVB-S2X and other key standards, Blink enables flexible, scalable, cloud-ready operations within modern ground segments.

Working collaboratively, the two companies have demonstrated how digitised RF signals can be operated across a multi-vendor environment. The integrated solution combines ETL’s RF front-end digitisation with Amphinicy’s virtualised modem capability, delivering a flexible and interoperable architecture aligned with the DIFI standard.

The joint capability was demonstrated live at Satellite Week in Washington, D.C., in March 2026, where attendees witnessed real-time signal acquisition and processing across the digital chain. The demonstration underlines the growing maturity of open, standards-based digital ground segment technologies and their readiness for operational deployment.

“Collaborations like this are essential to unlocking the full potential of digital ground,” said Simon Swift, Engineering Director of Digital Technologies at ETL Systems. “By integrating our digitiser module with the Blink modem, we’ve shown how cutting-edge technologies can work together to deliver an interoperable, standards-based solution for our customers.”

This joint development reflects a shared commitment to enabling the next generation of satellite communications infrastructure. By combining their relative expertise, ETL Systems and Amphinicy Technologies are working together to deliver satcom solutions that enhance and accelerate the transition towards fully virtualised ground networks.

“Such integration on top of a DIFI standard is the core engine of a digital ground station: enabling elastic scaling, multi‑vendor interoperability, lower total cost of ownership, and the ability to introduce new waveforms and evolve ground infrastructure at agile software speed rather than hardware lifecycles.” added Irena Kos, Head of Product development of Blink wideband software modem.
