Vulcan L-band Matrix (Downlink) 128 x 128


  • Description

    The Vulcan is a distributive (full fan-out) Matrix. With 128 Inputs x 128 Outputs routing in an extremely compact 16U high chassis this matrix gives a high performance solution to frequency signal routing changes and handling a high volume of downlink feeds. 

    All active components are hot-swap - RF cards, CPU's and PSU's. In addition the Vulcan L-band Matrix has the designed-in resilience provided by dual redundant CPU's, and dual redundant PSU's.

    A variety of impedances and connector types are available.

  • Matrix Types

    Non-blocking: this means any input can be routed to any output.

    Full Fan-out Matrix (or fully distributive or splitting matrix): any input can be routed to any output. One input can be routed to many outputs. Each output can only have one input. Tends to be more RX.

    In general, our solid state (L-band) matrices are non-blocking.

  • Matrix Sizes

    The Vulcan Matrix has a full capacity of 128 inputs x 128 outputs, but can be supplied part-populated in input / output increments of 8 - such as 64x128 or 96x96.  It can then be hot expanded to 128x128.  Larger systems can be made using multiple (Vulcan) modules with system splitters and / or combiners – such as 128x256 or 256x256 up to a maximum of 1024x1024.
