Switch Matrix / Router
ETL has a broad Switch Matrix / RF Router range providing RF signal distribution for satellite communications. The ETL Switch Matrix Router products are available as a distributive fan-out matrix for Receive Chains and as a combining fan-in matrix for Transmit Chains. ETL also has the Ensign fan-in fan-out L-band matrix.
Our RF Router range provides options which are fully hot-swap with hot-swap of all active components such as RF cards, CPU, and PSU, and expandable for future requirements.
Our 32 x 32 Enigma L-band Matrix Switch is used for many high resilience high performance applications and smaller more application-specific L-band Routers like the 16 x 16 Victor Matrix, are used in cruise ships, broadcast relay stations, and smaller broadcast functions.
The matrix switch range provides solutions to cover different frequency ranges such as L-band Matrix, IF Matrix more specialist Broadband Matrix for 50 to 1000 MHz UHF / VHF Matrix Switching. SHF Matrix solutions are generally for switching up to 18 GHz and incorporate coaxial relays.
Non-blocking - this means any input can be routed to any output.
In general our solid state (L-band) matrices are non-blocking.
Full Fan-out Matrix (or fully distributive or splitting matrix): any input can be routed to any output. One input can be routed to many outputs. Each output can only have one input. Tends to be more RX.
Full Fan-in Matrix (or fully combining matrix): any input can be routed to any output. Many inputs can be routed to each output. Each input can only be routed to one output. Tends to be more TX.
Fan-in Fan-out (FIFO) Matrix: multiple inputs can be combined and the combined signal can then be routed (distributed) to multiple outputs. There is no restriction on how many inputs and outputs can be connected together simultaneously, even all inputs to all outputs at once.
L-band Matrix (850-2150MHz) and Extended L-band (850-2450MHz) high performance hot-swap or smaller L-band Router
IF Matrix (20-200MHz) high performance hot-swap IF Matrix or smaller IF Router.
Broadband Matrix (50-1000MHz) covering UHF and VHF routing high performance hot-swap Broadband Matrix or smaller Broadband Router.
4GHz Matrix (1500-4000MHz) high performance with hot-swap features.
