Vortex L-band Matrix System (downlink) 64 x 192


  • Description

    The L-band expandable matrix system has been designed to provide high resilience for mission critical applications, with redundant, hot-swap active components.

    The multi-module 64 x 192 Vortex Matrix System is a distributive (full fan out) Matrix. The system requires (32 RU rack space in) 1 to 2 19" racks depending on rack size / cable density requirements and ancillary equipment (splitter type, termination panels, LNB powering etc). The L-band Matrix is scalable to a maximum system size of 1024 inputs x 1024  outputs.

    A variety of impedances and connector types are available.

  • Matrix Types

    Non-blocking: this means any input can be routed to any output.

    Full Fan-out Matrix (or fully distributive or splitting matrix): any input can be routed to any output. One input can be routed to many outputs. Each output can only have one input. Tends to be more RX.

    In general, our solid state (L-band) matrices are non-blocking.

  • Matrix Sizes

    The 64 x 192 Vortex Matrix System is comprised of three Vortex 64 x 64 modules and system splitters. It can be expanded using additional (Vortex) modules with system splitters and / or combiners up to a maximum 1024 x 1024.

    Hurricane Matrix - 64 x 192 requires 3 fully populated Hurricane matrices and system splitters (total 20 RU)

    Vulcan Matrix - 64 x 192 requires 2 part populated Vulcan matrices and system splitters (total 38 RU)
