32 Inputs x 32 Outputs Distributive Hot-swap Enigma IF and L-band Matrix.

The Enigma IF and L-band Matrix is housed in a 6U 19" rack enclosure. It has a module capacity of 32 inputs x 32 outputs, but can be part populated to any size, such as those shown below. It can then be hot expanded up to 32 x 32. The Enigma IF and L-band Router can easily be formed into larger Matrix Systems up to 512x512 by adding additional modules.
A variety of impedances and connector types are available, as shown below.

Now in its 3rd generation, the Enigma IF and L-band Matrix has proved to be genuinely high performance with excellent flatness or frequency response, excellent isolation, and linearity - a truly leading edge IF and L-band Router.

The Enigma IF and L-band Matrix has hot swap of all active components - RF cards, CPU's and PSU's. In addition the Enigma IF and L-band Matrix has the designed-in resilience provided by one RF card for each RF input and output, dual redundant CPU's, and dual redundant PSU's.

The Enigma IF and L-band Matrix also has extensive on-board monitoring - and reporting - of RF card amplifier status, CPU and PSU status and HMI communications.

Non-blocking: this means any input can be routed to any output.

In general our solid state (L-band) matrices are non-blocking.

Full Fan-out Matrix (or fully distributive or splitting matrix): any input can be routed to any output. One input can be routed to many outputs. Each output can only have one input. Tends to be more RX.

The Enigma L-band and IF matrix has hot swap of all active components - RF cards, VGA human interface, CPU's and PSU's.

In addition the Enigma L-band and IF Matrix has the designed-in resilience provided by one RF card for each RF input and output, dual redundant CPU's, and dual redundant PSU's.

The Enigma L-band and IF Matrix also has extensive on-board monitoring - and reporting - of RF card amplifier status, CPU and PSU status and HMI communications.

Control of the RF Matrix can be done locally via the touchscreen and VGA display, and remote connection is via RS232/485 serial and RJ45 Ethernet ports.

Web Browser Interface is provided as standard with the Enigma L-band and IF Switch Matrix.

The Enigma Switch Matrix is available in a variety of frequency ranges covering IF, UHF/VHF and L-band. They are generally used for satellite communications applications in teleports, and ground stations.

The Enigma L-band and IF Switch Matrix is available as a fan-out or distributive Switch Matrix, for receive or downlink applications; and as a fan-in or combining Switch Matrix for transmit or uplink applications. The L-band and IF matrix is used to provide flexibility in the routing of antennas to receivers or modems; to allow remote routing of satellite signals to receivers or modems; and to help optimise the use of receiving capacity. The Enigma L-band and IF Switch matrix reduces the overall cost of an earth station by optimising capacity, and allowing remote control - this helps both capex and opex expenses.

The Enigma L-band and IF Switch matrix can also be incorporated into an overall automatic redundancy Network Management System to enhance the resilience of the overall earth station equipment. The Enigma Switch Matrix is a high resilience module with hot swap of all active components, and dual redundant PSU's and CPU's.

Up to 32 inputs x 32 outputs we would recommend the Enigma matrix which has a full capacity of 32 inputs x 32 outputs, but can be supplied part-populated, and expanded in single increments. Multiple modules can be joined together to make systems such as 32 inputs x 16 outputs.

Up to 64 inputs x 64 outputs we would recommend the Vortex matrix which has a full capacity of 64 inputs x 64 outputs, but can be populated in increments of 16.

Up to 128 inputs x 128 outputs we would recommend the Vulcan matrix which has a full capacity of 128 inputs x 128 outputs, but can be populated in increments of 8.
