Carrier Monitoring
ETL allows the earth station operator to monitor signals at two levels - via a carrier monitor which monitors an entire series of carriers, and via an L-band channel monitor. The carrier monitoring system can be used up to 26GHz and comprises a spectrum analyser, switch and PC software which monitors selected carriers for consistency of power, carrier / noise and signal. Deviation from set levels triggers alarms and is recorded. The L-band monitor comprises multiple tuners and monitors Bit Error rate, and signal level on up to 16 carriers simultaneously.
