# L-band Matrix - Distributive (Fan-out) Hot-swap

ETL has a broad hot-swap L-band Switch Matrix and L-band Router range for satellite communications, including the Vulcan L-band Matrix (128 x 128 module capacity), the Hurricane L-band Matrix (64 x 64 module capacity), the NiGMa L-band Matrix (32 x 32 module capacity) and the Optimus L-band Matrix (Quad 4 x 16, dual 4 x 32 or single 4 x 64 module capacity).

ETL's Hot-swap L-band Matrix units are used for many high resilience high performance applications, and can be supplied full or part populated.

Up to 32 inputs x 32 outputs we would recommend the NiGMa matrix which has a full capacity of 32 inputs x 32 outputs, but can be supplied part-populated, and expanded in single increments. Multiple modules can be joined together to make systems such as 32 inputs x 16 outputs.

Up to 64 inputs x 64 outputs we would recommend the Vortex matrix which has a full capacity of 64 inputs x 64 outputs, but can be populated in increments of 16.

Up to 128 inputs x 128 outputs we would recommend the Vulcan matrix which has a full capacity of 128 inputs x 128 outputs, but can be populated in increments of 8.

**Non-blocking:** any input can be routed to any output.

In general our solid state (L-band) matrices are non-blocking.

**Full Fan-out Matrix (or fully distributive or splitting matrix): **any input can be routed to any output. One input can be routed to many outputs. Each output can only have one input. Tends to be more RX.

**Full Fan-in Matrix (or fully combining matrix):** any input can be routed to any output. Many inputs can be routed to each output. Each input can only be routed to one output. Tends to be more TX.

**Fan-in Fan-out (FIFO) Matrix: **multiple inputs can be combined and the combined signal can then be routed (distributed) to multiple outputs. There is no restriction on how many inputs and outputs can be connected together simultaneously, even all inputs to all outputs at once.

L-band Matrix - Up to 32 Inputs x 32 Outputs in 6U, distributive, hot-swap Enigma series, with **single input & output cards for enhanced resilience**. The Enigma matrix is available with a range of enhanced RF features such as** high linearity** & **variable gain**.

16 x 32 IF / L-band Matrix - VALIANT

IF / L-band Matrix - Up to 16 Inputs x 32 Outputs in 3U, distributive, Valiant series. The Valiant matrix is available with optional LNB powering.
