RF equipment for Government VSAT network
A European government was establishing a secure VSAT network and looking for each remote terminal to have 4 burst modems attached to the VSAT terminal.
The remote terminals did not have external referencing and the customer did not want to rely on a single modem to provide these. They also wanted to be able to use traditional internet connectivity to monitor the condition of the shelf via a web browser interface.
ETL worked with them to develop a custom build shelf - see VSAT shelf model 22253 - which comprises a 4-way splitter and 4-way combiner, a 10 MHz high stability source, and power supplies for both BUC and LNB powering. This can be used to reference and power the VSAT terminal and interface to the 4 modems and a web browser interface permits setting of alarm levels, and alarm monitoring.
