Department: Sales & Marketing

The Sales & Marketing Assistant is to be a key member of the Sales & Marketing (SM) team supporting the Sales & Marketing Supervisor. The primary responsibility will be to support ETL's sales & marketing activities and to act in a customer support role addressing queries on lead times etc. The role will also include internet mailings and customer quotes for standard products.

Main duties & areas of responsibility:


• To provide assistance with sales & marketing activities as directed by the Sales & Marketing Supervisor
• To answer incoming main-line phone calls
• To maintain and manage housekeeping of leads generated through marketing activities - updating CRM database
• To perform general administration duties / support as required for the smooth running of the department
• To handle customer queries on problems, deliveries etc
• To organise and book travel arrangements - flights and hotels etc for trips
• To prepare marketing info packs for trips and mailings
• To prepare customer proposals, including costs and quotes for price list products
• Assisting with the planning, organisation and delivery of e-mailings - (1. Arranging annual calendar and ensuring articles are written in time; 2. some authoring; 3. uploading articles and mailing lists; 4. analysis of information and summary report to team)

Function: PCB Design and Development
Location: Hereford, HR2 9NE, or Rickmansworth, WD3 1RE

The PCB Design Engineer will take on an innovative and productive position in ETL's Design team, supporting the Team Leader by designing and developing RF and digital PCBs. The role will include schematic capture as well as PCB layout work. The position requires an experienced individual who will have previously held a similar position within the electronics industry.

Main duties & areas of responsibility:

• PCB design and development.
• Generation and release of associated manufacturing files and documentation.
• Technical liaison within Engineering, and other company departments, as well as external suppliers.
• Generate ideas and resolve unforeseen design technicalities as part of a team.
• Produce 3D models and mechanical drawings as required.
• Any other duties that the PCB Design Team Leader deems suitable for this role.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills & experience:

Essential:
• Educated to HNC level, or above, in Electronics (or similar engineering discipline); alternatively possesses equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrable experience and ability to read electrical circuits, generate schematic captures, and the ability to transfer these into PCB layouts using commercially available CAD tools.
• Prior experience as a PCB Design Engineer with a proven track record in RF and digital design.
• Working knowledge of PC board construction and specification.

Highly desirable:
• A working knowledge of industry standards (e.g. IPC) and related qualification such as CID/CID+.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Director and taking on a leading position in ETL's system, product and component design and development.

Positions exist for various levels of experience but it is expected that you will have good previous experience. For exceptional candidates, this may be an opportunity to progress from the production environment or from other engineering support positions, in which case you will demonstrate why you are considering a move to a design role.

Main duties & areas of responsibility:

• Circuit designs, from concept to delivery.
• Generation of all usual design/development documentation including design specifications, test specifications, schematics, BOMs and assemblies.
• Technical support to the Test and Production teams.
• Actively contribute to ETL's continuous improvement programme.

Essential:

• Technical ability & background:
• Experience and knowledge in similar design and development organisations and familiar with the product development lifecycle.
• Whilst a broad technical background is preferred, the candidate will have a deeper understanding of at least two of the following disciplines: RF design, digital hardware design, embedded/high-level software design, systems engineering and test/verification.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, the RF Design Engineer will take on a leading position in ETL's RF & microwave design and development activities to support component, product and system level projects.

This role is suitable for a design engineer who is keen to take on design tasks, as well as support sales and promotion of new product introduction.

This is a unique role where you will have exposure to a broad range of RF designs as well as interaction with other departments and customers. There is potential for fast track progression, as ETL's components are enjoying a sharp growth rate.

Main duties & areas of responsibility:

• RF & Microwave circuit designs, from concept to delivery (includes conventional circuits as well as new and novel design approaches.)
• Technical support to Test and Production teams.
• Support to other departments: The role requires interaction with other departments to see ideas developed from concept to delivery. You will be required to liaise with the Sales & Marketing Department as well as Production and Test.
• Generation of standard development documentation including design & test specifications, BOMs etc.

Reporting directly to the Principal Design Engineer, you will play a major role in providing a first class IT infrastructure within ETL.

• Set up and maintenance of PCs, configuring drivers.
• Troubleshooting problems / desktop support.
• Maintaining the daily system backup.
• Assisting with the implementation of IT projects, including the introduction of new systems.

Reporting directly to the Test Manager, the Test Engineer will take on an active position in ETL's RF & microwave equipment test and diagnostic work, as well as developing automated testing.

This role is suitable for a graduate keen to take on test automation and assist with product development. You will be mentored by your colleagues and receive on-job training, starting with relatively simple tasks and working your way up to the more demanding challenges.

Main duties & areas of responsibility

This is a Junior Test Engineering role which offers opportunities to progress across the ranks of Test Engineering and Production. The job provides the opportunity to learn and apply test skills. You will also learn the basic assembly skills to facilitate solutions to fault diagnostics.

Duties include:
• RF & Microwave module and equipment testing. This will include environmental, electrical tests as well as diagnostic work.
• Working closely with your colleagues to support routine testing.
• Learning and applying new diagnostic skills.
• From time to time you may be asked to work additional hours to meet tight deadlines.

Main duties & areas of responsibility:

This is a Senior Test Engineering role which offers opportunities to progress across the ranks of Test Engineering and Production. The job provides the opportunity to excel by enhancing the in house test capabilities, as well as mentoring the Test Technologists.

Duties include:
• RF & Microwave module and equipment testing. This will include environmental, electrical tests as well as diagnostic work.
• Working closely with the Test Manager to improve test automation and diagnostic tools.
• Supporting customer visits, Factory Acceptance Tests and preparing test reports.
• Occasionally you may be required to visit customers for technical support or for the commissioning of systems.
• Supporting other departments: The role requires interaction with other departments, most importantly Production and Engineering Teams. For this you will be required to liaise with the Design Engineers and Assembly Teams, define test fixtures and advise improvements where applicable.

o Experience and knowledge in the testing of passive and active RF and microwave modules and equipment.
