ETL tailor block down converters to meet specific application needs. Ku to L-band down-converters are most common and these are often constructed with built-in BDC redundancy. The shelves may be modular allowing hot swap of failed BDC modules or fixed stand-by solutions. Similarly Block up converters are usually sculpted to specific customer needs.
